In a recent Reddit post, Sarah Greenmore talked about everything from how much she makes to why she doesn’t let clients go down on her.

In a recent Reddit “Ask Me Anything” post, Sarah Greenmore, an employee at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Carson City, Nevada, answered users’ questions. The responses she gave about what it’s like to be a (legal) prostitute are pretty eye-opening.

Greenmore said she got into the business because her old job working in a spa wasn’t making enough money. She said she always did cam work on the side and is a very sexual person, so the idea of working in a brothel appealed to her. ” I decided to work at the brothels in Nevada as it is something unique,” she says. “I like the community aspect of the brothel and although I feel it is over-regulated, I like the safety as well.” Greenmore also explains that she had to undergo a background check with the sheriff’s office beforehand. You can’t work in the industry if you’re a felon, and there’s an initial STD check (plus weekly follow-up checks for as long as you work in the industry).

Unsurprisingly, Greenmore makes a lot of money. Although she didn’t give a yearly number, she did say “I worked 13 days in July and made 9,700 takehome [sic] before taxes.” She doesn’t say whether or not that’s a typical month of work, but it’s reasonable to assume she could be making six figures working part-time hours. She says they focus on time when billing a client. They’ll negotiate what will be done up front, and then spent a certain number of hours alone until the client’s time is up.

She also says that, yes, the stereotype is true and they get lots of virgins. They also work with physically impaired clients or people with caretakers. And although it’s not common, they do get female clients. Greenmore also says its pretty common to get clients who just want to talk. “We’re therapists who also maybe touch your weiner,” she says. She says she will never have sex without a condom, saying, “Condoms are required by law, 100%.”

Greenmore will never let a client go down on her. “You can spread STDs through oral sex,” she says. “Also, bacterial infections. I’m just not into it really.”

She also says it doesn’t matter to her how attractive a client is. “This client is paying to have my company,” she explains. “Its not about my pleasure, its about his. His attractiveness isn’t quantifiable to the level of service I’m going to provide him. Making people feel good is my job, first and foremost.”

Greenmore also works long hours. She’s up by 9:30 a.m. to work out, and then is typically greeting customers and booking appointments from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. And although those are long hours, she can sneak a nap in or grab some coffee. And you’d think she’d get sore working for so long (she says she’s had up to seven clients in a day), but Greenmore has a secret. “I use lube that has Hyaluronan in it which helps repair skin cells,” she says. “Its Pjur Med Repair Glide.”

Greenmore also says her family is (mostly) supportive and her friends just want her to be safe. She just got out of a 3.5-year relationship with a guy who did porn. But it’s not because of their industries. “I’m not interested in dating anyone who wouldn’t call themselves a feminist,” she says.
